This weekend, two large comic book conventions are taking place. Expect news from both over the next few days.
In Philadelphia, Marvel’s first panel, Mondo Marvel: Featuring Annihilation, included the announcement of Penance: Relentless by Paul Jenkins and Paul Gulacy, coming in September. UPDATE: It will be a 5-issue mini-series. (Thank you, DH.)
Also during the panel, a fan asked about the chances of Loners becoming an ongoing. Writer C.B. Cebulski answered, “It’s up in the air. We’re hopeful. Hopefully the characters will be popping up in some other books.”
UPDATE: The cover to Nova #6 featuring Gamora was unveiled.
UPDATE 2: Firestar will debut in Ultimate Spider-Man for an “Ultimate Spider-Man and his Ultimate Friends” storyarc with Iceman. Writer Brian Michael Bendis revealed that the Ultimate Universe’s version of Firestar will be a character that’s already been introduced in the comic.
