  1. Jeph! Says:

Beak appears in Exiles #46, not #36. He also appears in Exiles #62 and Generation M #4.

  2. Corey Says:

Great, thank you! Fixed #46 and added #62 and Gen M #4.

  3. Jeph! Says:

That was fast! In that case, if you care, one of Beak’s kids is named Tito.

  4. RonnieThunderbolts Says:

Beak has a total of six children, three named, and three unidentified. Tito has retained his mutation, but the others are all human after M-Day. The other named children are another son called Axel and a daughter named Kara.

  5. RonnieThunderbolts Says:

Oh, and Beak wasn’t actually created by Frank Quitely. He was created by Grant Morrison and Ethan Van Sciver.

  6. Jeph! Says:

Huh — where were the other two kids named? I missed that…

  7. James Hunter Says:

At least one of the de-powered kids was named in Exiles #71

  8. RonnieThunderbolts Says:

Not sure exactly where it was revealed initially, but it is in Angel Salvadore’s Official Marvel Handbook bio. Under the bibliography, it has these listed for “Significant Issues”

First kissed Beak (New X-Men #131, 2002); revealed pregnancy to Beak (New X-Men #138, 2003); children hatched (New X-Men #141, 2003); Beak became unhinged from time (Exiles #48, 2004); reality warped, lived as fashion model, possessed by Proteus, reunited with Beak, became human after “M-Day” (Exiles #69-71, 2005)

Not sure if it was in one of those issues or not, but they are pretty good at at least putting online corrections if there are any mistakes in the handbooks. I’m thinking they are correct.

  9. Corey Says:

This is why I’m glad the comments feature exists. Thanks guys!

  10. Jeph! Says:

Thanks for the pointer, James — Tito, Axel and Kara were all named in the same panel of Exiles #71.

(But, wait, how do we know that Tito was the one who retained his mutation?)

    -Jeph!

  11. Jeph! Says:

Sigh. Note to self: read entire scene before commenting. Beak refers to the still-mutated child AS TITO on the VERY NEXT PAGE from the panel I was looking at two minutes ago.

Hey, Corey, how ’bout making the comments editable, so I can quit embarrassing myself?

    Bah.

    -Jeph!

  12. Corey Says:

But what fun would that be?

Unfortunately, I can’t change whether the comments can be editable or not. I’ll look into it, though. Maybe there’s something I didn’t see.

  13. James Hunter Says:

Corey, just a little extra for you, here’s the titles of each ssue (where applicable). I don’t have all of his New X-Men appearances, so I’ll have to start with New X-Men (volume 1, if we need to distinguish it from academy X that way… ;) #146

When Jeph says Axel and Kara were named in Exiles #71 he meant #72 I think (my mistake if not).

“Geration M” #4 was untitled, but hopefully that information will all proof useful!

  14. Jeph! Says:

Nope, I meant #71. THAT bit I checked — Beak isn’t in #72. His final Exiles appearance was the end of the “House of M” crossover, at which point he gets left behind on Earth-616.
