Spectacular Spider-Man Annual #11

Story length: 7 pages

Speedball appearance:

  • Page count: 7
  • Panel count: 41
  • Word balloon count: 15 (note: baby Robbie only says two words multiple times throughout the story)
  • Significance of appearance: Cute, and technically the very first appearance of Robbie Baldwin (as a baby, probably about 7-12 months old), but not really essential. He’s mostly used as a prop for young Peter Parker. This is also the first time Robbie meets Peter Parker, but both are so young neither of them probably remember it. Also of interest: Justin Baldwin’s father and Peter’s uncle Ben Parker apparently have a long history. This back-up story was produced and released about 3 years after Speedball’s first published appearance in 1988, but in the Marvel Universe, it takes place about 15 years ago ago.
