By issue #165, the series formerly known as Grant Morrison’s “New X-Men” was back to simply being titled “X-Men”.

By the same token, the series that you have listed as “New X-Men: Academy X” was never listed by that name in the comic’s indicia. Its first 19 issues should be titled simply “New X-Men”, and listed right before issues #20-22.

Also, Sofia appeared in House of M #8 and the New X-Men Yearbook Special.

Oh, and Sofia did NOT appear in New X-Men #11.

Thank you! I think I got it all updated. Now to track these issues down…!

I have to disagree with Jeph! When the series first started it was known as New X-Men: Academy X (the comics indica had it listed as NXM:AX) and it only lost the “Academy X” tag line when Chris Yost and Craig Kyle took over and stram-lined the cast (that is when it became New X-Men or NXM in the comics indicia)

Oh and Corey, if it helps the first 20 issues (at least) are available in TPB form.

    Cheers.

    James.

I remember specifically checking early issues of the book for this — but sadly I’ve sold them all in favor of the TPBs, so I can’t check again right now. But I’m 95% sure that, if the indicia did say “Academy X” at first, it was definitely dropped WELL PRIOR to Yost and Kyle’s taking over the book at #20.

(However, the Yearbook, the only single issue I have, is listed as “New X-Men: Academy X Yearbook”.)

And yes, issues #1-36 are currently available in eight TPBs. The main story from the Yearbook is in there, too, but the Yearbook also contains Handbook-style profiles of the NXM squad (including one of Sofia) that aren’t collected in the trade.
